Sleepy Hollow

I saw Sleepy Hollow again today for the third time, every time I watch it I like Johnny Depp’s performance even more. The movie wasn’t the best in the whole world, but Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors and the story has been a favorite since childhood.

I did have some grating problems with the movie though, other than it’s obvious violence, blood, and gore. However, I could look past that with the little humor and romance there was. What really bothered me was Christina Ricci’s hair. Now everybody who knows me would know that I am not a fashion guru and I pretty much do what I want when it comes to my hair or my clothes, but her hair just didn’t quite sit well with me.

The movie was set in a dark and gloomy sort of mood, and she looked pale to fit the setting like in ‘The Addams Family’–I had no problem with her hair in that movie, it was black and actually fit her look– but the blond… and she was also wearing a peach dress… in that type of setting with her skin drained of color, I just wasn’t feeling it.

I like Christina Ricci, she’s one of my favorite actresses but in my opinion, her hair was one mistake in that movie. I think the other was that she dyed her eyebrows blond as well. It just looked like she didn’t have any eyebrows at all. Now, I am not picking on Christina Ricci, just making some observations. Anyway, I love the movie and Christopher Walken absolutely freaked me out at the end, his appearance kind of reminded me of Beetlejuice.
